Friday 16th March
Granite N Grub
Main Event Marquee, Riverside Park, Moruya
BYO picnic or takeaway dinner, chairs or a rug, and celebrate the 80th anniversary of Moruya’s granite contribution to the Sydney Harbour Bridge with a nostalgic film night.
Learn about Moruya’s historic connection to Australia’s iconic bridge with a fascinating collection of photographs and memorabilia.
The immigrant quarry workers brought with them knowledge and skills for growing food and helped lay the foundations for a strong food economy in Moruya that lasted for many years, as well as the foundations of the bridge and many other historic Sydney buildings.
A gold coin donation is asked to raise funds to build a tourist information sign and display at the old quarry site.
